Nina Dobrev And Ian Somerhalder Playing Up Personal Drama For ‘Vampire Diaries’ Ratings?
Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder may no longer be dating, but their love life and personal drama has been the center of gossip and headlines for months. Now, Celeb Dirty Laundry reports that all the drama between Nina and Ian could be a ploy to earn bigger ratings for their television show, The Vampire Diaries.
The site claims that one reason Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder haven’t denied the rumors of their animosity toward each other, the gossip that the show is hurting, or cleared up and misconceptions about them is because all the drama has been good publicity for The Vampire Diaries, which is currently in its sixth season, and has been up and down in the ratings all year.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder have been battling hard behind the scenes of The Vampire Diaries.
It all started when Nina and Ian called it quits after years of dating and working together. Of course their romantic relationship was over, but their characters Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore continue to be in love, which leads to the actors having to get very close on set.
It was okay at first, but when Ian Somerhalder began dating Nina Dobrev’s former friend, Nikki Reed, everything began to crumble. Ian reportedly moved Nikki in with him in Atlanta, Georgia where The Vampire Diaries films, and began bringing his new girlfriend to set, which led to some awkward moments with Nina.
Nina Dobrev allegedly didn’t like having Nikki Reed around while she and Ian Somerhalder were filming love scenes, and everything got so bad that it was reported that Nikki was even banned from set.
Dobrev took a page out of Somerhalder’s book by dating his friend, singer Mark Foster, of the band Foster The People.
There has been a lot of back and forth between Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder, and the feud has led to reports that The Vampire Diaries could even be in jeopardy if the pair can’t get along and work out their issues.
Although it could just be Nina and Ian’s split in general that is hurting the ratings. Fans loved the fact that Dobrev and Somerhalder were really in love off screen and that Elena and Damon were together on screen.
