Google has launched a new program to make its Webmaster Tools available to any ISP, at no charge.
The Webmaster Tools Access Provider Program lets hosting companies gain access to the utilities just by signing up. Once connected, the hosts can integrate the Webmaster Tools into their own user interfaces. The program had been under testing with Go Daddy since last November.
Google’s Webmaster Tools let users monitor statistics and discover problems Google’s crawlers might be having in trying to access their sites. The service provides extra options in managing how a site appears in Google’s search results, such as defining a specific geographic region for content, setting how often Google crawls the site, and instructing Google to always use or always avoid the “www” prefix in the URL.
