Kristina Pimenova: 9-Year-Old Model Attracting The Wrong Crowd?

At just 9-years-old, Kristina Pimenova is taking the fashion world by storm, and is called “the most beautiful girl in the world.”

Kristina started her modeling career at the age of 3, and has appeared in campaigns for major fashion brands, including Benetton, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Roberto Cavali. Her face has also appeared on several fashion magazines.

The little model even has her own Instagram account with more than 300,000 followers, which is run by her mother, Glikeriya Shirokova, who was also a model. Her Facebook page also has more than 2 million likes. Kristina has garnered fans from her country Russia and all around the world.

Her Facebook page explains how she got into modeling.

“She first got started in modelling when she was 3 years old, anywhere her mom would go, people would tell her how adorable Kristina was and tell her to try modelling. Her mom decided to try it out and Kristie soon realised how much it was, especially catwalk and fashion shows. She’s been having a blast ever since and is still loving every minute of it!”

Critics say that the pictures of Kristina posted on her Facebook and Instagram accounts where she is seen wearing short skirts are attracting pedophiles, the Mirror reports. Many also say that Kristina’s pictures shouldn’t be uploaded to her accounts, as she is being sexualized.

Several users have already commented on her pictures, calling her a “babe” and talking about her long legs. One user even directed a comment at Kristina’s mother.

“You are sexifying your daughter and parents like you are the reason why girls grow up to have many issues… also there are so many sick ppl out their that look at these in sexually ways.”

According to the International Business Times, Glikeriya answered the critics by saying that Kristina is not at risk because she is the one who monitors all her daughter’s accounts online. She also takes time to delete all the inappropriate comments left on the pictures of Kristina.

Despite the backlash from critics, Kristina’s supporters stand by her, and say that the pictures posted on her online accounts are completely innocent, and that some adults have their own agenda regarding images that aren’t even sexual in nature.

A London-based model who wishes to remain anonymous commented on the issue through the Mail Online.

“You can say her expression is sultry in her photos, or suggestive, or too mature. Or you can say she looks moody and sulky. Essentially, you’re just looking at a girl who happens to be extraordinarily beautiful. Perhaps if her face was that of an average-looking child, no one would be having this conversation.”
