California Gunman Wearing Werewolf Mask Walks In, Shoots Construction Worker And Leaves
In a creepy case of daylight burglary attempt, a gunman wearing a werewolf mask simply walked in to a check-cashing business, shot a construction worker inside the premises, and walked away without saying a word. According to KTLA, the incident happened at the First One 4 Cash outlet located in the 12000 block of Central Avenue near the 60 Freeway at around 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
Local police officials have launched a massive hunt for the masked gunman since then, reports CNN. The construction worker, who was shot was hit in the head by the bullet, is reportedly a 58-year-old man. Luckily for him, the bullet only grazed past his head. His injuries are not of a life threatening nature, and he is expected to make a full recovery. At this stage, it is unclear if the burglary attempt by the masked gunman was successful. The name of the injured worker has not been released yet.
According to Armand Soliano, a co-worker of the construction worker who was hit, the people at the business initially thought it was all part of a prank when the gunman simply walked in and started shooting without saying a single word.
“He didn’t say a word,” Soliano told CNN affiliate KABC. “The gunman shot him in the head for no reason.”
He added that the business was closed for renovations at the time of the incident. Ironically, the workers were in the process of installing a security barrier at the business when the burglary attempt happened. The back doors of the business was open as well, Soliano confirmed. It was from there that the gunman made his entry.
Lieutenant Aaron Kelliher from the Chino Police Department says, “The gunman entered the business… through an open rear door and shot the victim upon encountering him inside.”
He confirmed that the gunman was wearing a werewolf mask and that he fled on foot after the shooting. Even though police officials launched an “exhaustive search” after the incident, there have been no clues as to who the assailant could possibly be.
This creepy case of unprovoked shooting happened on the same day that a gunman was shot dead in Austin, Texas, after he opened fire at several locations in the wee hours of the morning.
