Nicki Minaj Boyfriend: Rapper Steps Out With New Man Grizz Lee Amid Music Video Controversy
Nicki Minaj has a new boyfriend who is a few steps away from the bright spotlight of the entertainment industry but yet the Young Money rapper and her new beau have managed to find controversy just as they took their relationship public.
Last week Nicki stepped out with her new man, music video director Grizz Lee. The two were spotted at Los Angeles International Airport together, where Nicki revealed to TMZ that the two are, indeed, dating.
While Nicki Minaj’s new boyfriend, whose real name is Alex Loucas, may not be well known to those outside of the music industry, he is now making headlines across the nation for his controversial music video.
Nicki Minaj recently released the video for her single “Only,” and it quickly drummed up controversy for its seemingly Nazi imagery.
The lyric video features Nicki Minaj along with Drake, Lil’ Wayne, and Chris Brown. The video itself had images of flags, armbands, and gas masks that many believed resembled apparel from Nazi Germany.
Nicki took to Twitter to address the controversy, saying she had nothing to do with the creation of the video.
But Nicki Minaj also defended her boyfriend, who oversaw the video.

While Nicki Minaj defended her boyfriend, “Only” video director Jeff Osbourne refused to apologize for his choices, saying the Nazi imagery was supplemented by images of American and Russian military weapons, as well as an interpretation of the Pope.
“As far as an explanation, I think its actually important to remind younger generations of atrocities that occurred in the past as a way to prevent them from happening in the future,” Osbourne said. “And the most effective way of connecting with people today is through social media and pop culture. So if my work is misinterpreted because it’s not a sappy tearjerker, sorry I’m not sorry. What else is trending?”
While Osbourne may be doing his best to diffuse the controversy, it’s not exactly the smoothest start for Nicki Minaj and her new boyfriend.
