Lakechia Schonta Stanley St. Louis: Mom Sentenced To Prison For Waterboarding Children In St. Louis Home
Lakechia Schonta Stanley, of St. Louis, has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of waterboarding and abusing her children. According to the Mail Online, Stanley admitted to abusing her three children and was convicted on 34 felony charges including counts of endangering a child, and assault. Stanley will serve 78 years behind bars while her husband, who had also pleaded guilty to similar charges, was sentenced to 160 years.

According to the report, the couple’s 10-year-old daughter complained about pain in her arm while at school back in October 2011.
The way police were notified of the situation isn’t too surprising.
“The girl told her school librarian her mother had beaten her with a bat as punishment for not promptly cleaning the kitchen. The librarian found the arm cold to the touch, and when the girl was later treated at the hospital, medical staff found that profound abuse had caused trauma that constricted blood supply to the arm.”
Lakechia Schonta Stanley and her husband not only waterboarded their kids but also whipped the children using household items such as electrical cords. The three girls not only endured physical abuse, but years of emotional abuse as well. According to the New York Daily News, this was one of the worst cases of child abuse ever seen.
“What the defendant did to her own children far exceeds the definition of child abuse and amounts to systematic torture. She was supposed to be their mother, the one person they could trust. Instead she became a symbol of betrayal and fear, using every tool at her disposal to beat and torture her own innocent children,” said assistant circuit attorney Tanja Engelhardt in a letter to the judge.
Another child abuse story made headlines today. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, a family in Atlanta, Georgia, has been accused of incest and abuse. The children living in the home were malnourished and a baby reportedly died from starvation.
“The 44-year-old man and his 23-year-old daughter were involved in incest and produced a 3-year-old and 5-year-old from the relationship. The man was also involved with a 21-year-old physically disabled woman, and they had a 3-year-old child and a 15-month-old daughter together.”
Police made an arrest at Peachtree Corners, and the story has been all over the news. Many hope that the father and his 23-year-old partner face a similar fate as Lakechia Schonta Stanley and her husband did in St. Louis.
