George W Bush believes that there is a 50-50 chance that his brother, Jeb Bush, will run in the 2016 presidential election.
It has been heavily speculated that the next election will see Jeb Bush go up against Hilary Clinton. However during a chat with CBS News’ Face The Nation on Sunday, George W. Bush revealed that his brother is incredibly relaxed about whether or not he will run.
The 43rd President of the United States , who was in office from 2001 to 2009, actually declared that his younger brother isn’t “agonizing about the decision” in the slightest.
“I think it’s 50-50. He and I are very close. On the other hand, he’s not here knocking on my door, you know, agonizing about the decision. He knows exactly — you know, the ramifications on family, for example. He’s seen his dad and his brother go through the presidency. I know Jeb’s priority is his family… I also know it’s his country. And his deep faith. And he has seen that you don’t have to sell those out in order to be a politician.”
Meanwhile, as part of an interview with USA Today on Friday to promote his book, 41: A portrait of My Father, which will be published on Tuesday, George W. Bush was adamant that his brother should run. In fact, he truly believes that if he did, he could “heal wounds.”
“I think he’d be a superb president and I think he’d be a very good candidate and I think he could heal wounds.”
But all of the Bush family doesn’t agree with George W., though. In fact, he noted that while George Bush Sr. “very much wants [Jeb] to run,” Barbra Bush “has had a different point of view.”
George W. Bush also admitted that he is prepared to work endlessly to assist his brother in his candidacy, too. And he also declared that the entire Bush family would be there alongside him throughout the bid.
“I’ll do whatever he wants. I will be one of his strongest backers. If he wants me out there publicly, I’ll be out there publicly. If he wants me behind the scenes, I’ll be behind the scenes. You know, I’m all in for him. He’d be a great president.”
Jeb Bush stated back in February 2013 when asked about his possible candidacy for the 2016 election, “We’ll make the decision at the proper time – at least a year from now.”
