Jana Duggar Was Forced To Reward Jessa Duggar’s Bad Behavior
Jana Duggar isn’t getting married or being courted, so the 19 Kids and Counting star doesn’t get as much camera time as younger sisters Jessa and Jill. However, the lack of focus on Jana has made her one of the most intriguing members of the Duggar clan.
Fans of 19 Kids and Counting want to know why Jana Duggar isn’t starting a family of her own, and they’re interested in what she’s doing with her life. As The Epoch Times points out, the 24-year-old doesn’t have any social media accounts to keep 19 Kids and Counting fans updated on what she’s doing. However, Jana isn’t completely silent.
In the book Growing Up Duggar, Jana has plenty to say about living in the Duggar household. She told one story that makes Jessa Duggar sound like a real brat.
According to Jana, she and Jessa had a difficult time getting along with each other when they were younger. Her parents’ solution to this problem was to make the sisters share a bunk bed, but this just made the situation worse — Jessa got the bottom bunk, and she entertained herself by kicking Jana’s bunk every night and laughing at her sister’s discomfort.
Instead of working on correcting Jessa Duggar’s bad behavior, Michelle Duggar told Jana to try killing her sister with kindness.
“Jana, if you really want your sister to be nice to you, make it a point to be nice to her, even when she’s mean to you,” Michelle advised Jana.
Jana was tasked with coming up with something nice to do for her bratty sibling, and she decided to give Jessa one of her prized possessions: a jewelry box her parents had given her. Jana wrote about how hard it was to give the box away.
“It was hard to think of giving away one of my most treasured possessions — especially to someone I wasn’t happy with. But I tucked a few other childish but special-to-me things inside my jewelry box and then wrapped it up along with some candy. A little later, I told Jessa I had something to give her. I told her I loved her and handed her my gift.”
So Jessa Duggar’s bad behavior was rewarded with a gift, and poor Jana had to give up something that was really special to her even though she was doing nothing wrong. But at least Jessa quit being so cruel to her.
This isn’t the only recent story that’s painted Jana Duggar as the most pity-worthy member of the 19 Kids and Counting clan. According to a RadarOnline report, Jana is tasked with taking care of all of her younger brothers and sisters whenever her parents go out for a date night. The oldest Duggar sister is slowly losing her helpers, too — Jill Duggar Dillard has already moved out, and Jessa is about to get married. Jill and Jessa got to enjoy dates nights of their own while they were being courted, but a source revealed that poor Jana never gets a break.
“Jim Bob and Michelle have been known to go out on date night and leave all the kids at home with Jana in charge of the house. They’ll be gone for hours, and she has to watch over everyone. She does it with a smile, but it’s sad. It’s not like she ever gets a date night!”
Worse yet, the kids reportedly take advantage of their parents’ absence by doing “pretty much whatever they want.”
As The Inquisitr previously reported, Jana Duggar’s situation has some fans referring to her as “Cinderella Duggar.” It’s easy to see why she’s being compared to the fairy tale character — while the rest of the Duggar family was out enjoying a tea party on a recent episode of 19 Kids and Counting, Jana was tasked with hemming the bridesmaid and flower girl dresses for Jill Duggar Dillard’s wedding. According to The Hollywood Gossip, there are also rumors that Jim Bob Duggar isn’t letting Jana look for love because she’s such a help around the house — he and Michelle would lose their free babysitter/seamstress/maid if Jana were ever to get married.
