Amanda Bynes Hospitalized On 5150 Psychiatric Hold
Amanda Bynes has reportedly been hospitalized on psychiatric hold following her accusatory tweets on Friday morning. The Twitter rant accused her father of verbally and physically abusing her.
Bynes later deleted the tweets and recanted her allegations.

Following the bizarre tweets, Bynes flew to Los Angeles from New York, and was taken directly to a Pasadena hospital shortly after her arrival at LAX airport. According to TMZ, she had apparently thought she was going to meet up with her parents, but was instead brought directly to the facility and met by her attorney.
Bynes has reportedly been placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold, and can be held from 72 hours to an extended 14 days.
Similarly, last year Amanda was also placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold after a string of legal problems and an incident involving a small fire in a Ventura County home. Her mother, Lynn Bynes, was then granted partial conservatorship of the troubled star.
Following the claims of sexual abuse on Twitter, Bynes’ mother issued a statement through the family’s attorney, Tamar Arminak, refuting the allegations.
“I am heartbroken today for my husband of 47 years. Rick has been the best father and husband a family can ask for. He has never abused Amanda or our other children physically or sexually. These accusations are absolutely horrible and could not be further from the truth! These allegations stem from Amanda’s mental state at the moment. They have no basis in reality. It saddens me beyond belief that my husband’s character could be slandered in such a way.”
Another statement was also issued through Arminak by Amanda’s brother, Tommy Bynes, and sister, Jillian O’Keefe.
“We are disturbed beyond words that Amanda would come up with such a fabrication as a way to avoid getting much needed help or treatment…. We are pained by (Amanda’s) behavior but we absolutely give our full unconditional love and support to our wonderful parents.”
During a court appearance in September that Bynes was not present for, her attorney informed the court that the actress was not fit for trial. This occurred in the same month that she was arrested for another DUI. Earlier this week, the troubled star was also allegedly caught shoplifting at Barney’s in New York.
It is quite clear that 28-year-old Bynes is in serious need of help — hopefully this time she’ll get the treatments needed to set her on track to a positive and fulfilling future.
