Patrick Swayze’s Widow, Lisa Niemi, Gets Cozy With New Wax Statue

Lisa Niemi, Patrick Swayze’s widow, hasn’t been able to hold her husband for the last two years. The “Dirty Dancing” actor passed away in 2009 after losing a battle with pancreatic cancer. But Niemi and Swayze were reunited this week, thanks to a full-size wax statue of the actor which was unveiled at Madame Tussauds wax museum in Hollywood.

Niemi posed with Swayze for a series of photographs, recreating a famous scene from “Dirty Dancing.” US Weekly reports that the Swayze statue is standing on a log, like he did in the movie while seducing Jennifer Grey. Niemi took Grey’s place in the photo, to create a heart-warming, and sad, photo.

Niemi, who was married to Swayze for 34 years, said that she was impressed by Madame Tussauds wax statue. Niemi said:

“He had this kind of mischievous, but confident look … and things like his core (were) very, very strong and they worked on his arms more, so it’s very detailed. There’s a lot of work that goes into this…. In a way, it’s really wonderful and exciting and everyone’s in such a good mood here, and it’s gonna be so fun to have this figure in the museum here, and at the same time it’s bittersweet. I wish he were here, really here.”

What do you think of Lisa Niemi’s photo with Patrick Swayze? Sad? Sweet? Cheesy? Do you wish they would have modeled Patrick Swayze’s wax statue after his character in “Road House?”
