Janet Jackson Rocks Yas Hotel in First Middle East Concert
Janet Jackson was too overcome with grief to perform at Michael Jackson’s tribute concert last week, but the pop diva made it up to fans with a rocking concert at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island Hotel.
Janet’s Yas Hotel concert was her first performance in Abu Dhabi.
Janet said:
“Abu Dhabi, this is my first time performing in the Middle East. You have no idea how much I love you. Thank you for your support. You know my brother was crazy about this part of the world. Thank you, not just for me, but for my entire family. I love you so much.”
According to TruthDive, Janet didn’t use a fancy light show or huge displays during her concert. Her simplistic set put the weight of the performance squarely on her vocals, and according to all reports, Janet blew the crowd away.
Janet’s new tour, Number Ones: Up Close and Personal, has been described as Jackson’s “largest world tour.” The tour will promote Jackson’s latest compilation album, Number Ones, which features 34 of her songs that have hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts. Janet Jackson has had a number 1 hit in every category except country.

The Abu Dhabi stop was in the middle of Janet Jackson’s 10 month tour, which started in the Philippines in February. Jackson will play a series of concerts around Australia and New Zealand before returning to the states to finish her tour in Miami in December.
