‘RHONY’ Star Sonja Morgan Proposes Own Plan To Get Out Of Bankruptcy
The Real Housewives of New York star Sonja Morgan has been trying to put on a brave face over the past couple of years. While filming the fourth season of the show, Sonja filed for personal bankruptcy after an investment in a movie didn’t pan out as she had hoped. Morgan quickly owed millions to a production company.
But Sonja Morgan rarely cried about her financial struggles on the show. She kept smiling and fighting through her various lawsuits with her trusted lawyers by her side. During the recent sixth season, Sonja Morgan said very little about her financial issues. And perhaps it is because she has a plan on how she can get out of her legal issues.
According to a new Radar Online report, The Real Housewives of New York star Sonja Morgan has supposedly proposed her plan to a New York judge on how to solve her bankruptcy lawsuit. Lawyers for Morgan have decided to challenge a creditor’s plan to get paid back sooner rather than later. Sonja is being sued by Hannibal Inc., which was the production company that was behind the movie that fell apart.
The company has proposed a plan to liquidate all of her assets, including selling off her beloved New York City townhouse. The company wants the $8.1 million that they are supposedly owed, and the company wants the money before any other creditor sees the money. But Sonja Morgan doesn’t seem to agree with the plan.
Instead of dishing up money sooner rather than later, Morgan is delaying the plan. She has proposed a plan, where all creditors are paid 80 percent of what they are owed, which would include an estimated 62 percent of her debt on the spot. Then, she would continue to pay off the remaining $1.56 million over the next ten years, giving her a chance to make the money.
Even though Morgan’s financial status appears to be all over the place, Sonja claims that she is doing alright. She is rumored to have $1 million in savings and another $4.5 million in earnings from her recent sale of the French mansion she has often talked about on the show. Plus, Sonja seems very determined to make money from the launch of her various business ventures.
This plan would allow her to keep her New York townhome, which is very important for her daughter who lives with her. But a judge may look at her past to make his final decision. Morgan was recently spotted out in New York, getting drunk and making out with random guys in the streets. Plus, earlier this year, Morgan decided to leave her relationship with Harry Dubin behind, according to the Inquisitr.
Do you think Sonja Morgan’s plan is a great one?
