The American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) has launched CameraCake.com , a website that combines aspects of social bookmarking, crowd-sourcing, social filtered search and social networking to help imaging professionals identify and learn from the most valuable resources available.
CameraCake.com helps users stay informed by enabling them to share the resources they most admire and search resources others have posted by title, category, keyword and type. Resources can also be searched based on who posted and reviewed them, so users can identify and follow fellow participants with shared interests. There will be information on negotiating, sales, marketing, business trends, copyright, digital workflow, licensing, software, lenses, cameras, contracts, techniques and everything else that interests the photography community.
Judy Herrmann, CameraCake project director and a past President of ASMP, said:
“Imagine a place where you could find the best resources for photographers with a single click – information that has been submitted, approved and reviewed by your peers; where you can see at a glance what others who share your interests find valuable. With CameraCake.com, we’ve provided an innovative framework that will go wherever its users dictate.”
