Cristiano Ronaldo To Leave Real Madrid, Claims Former Teammate

Cristiano Ronaldo is desperate to leave Real Madrid, according to his former Bernabeu teammate, Angel Di Maria.

Di Maria left the Spanish giants last month, after it became clear that manager, Carlo Ancelotti, and president, Florentino Perez, had signed the likes of James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos to replace the Argentinian midfielder.

This is despite the fact that he was Madrid’s best player during the 2014 Champions League final, which saw Real overcome their cross-city rivals 4-1, while he wasn’t too bad throughout the World Cup for Argentina too until his injury kept him out of the semi-final and final.

Di Maria ultimately joined Manchester United for close to $100 million, but since he arrived at Old Trafford he has had a few choice words for Perez.

Over the last few days Di Maria has insisted that he never asked to leave Madrid, which is what Perez has claimed, and he was instead forced out. However he has now turned his attention to Ronaldo, who is widely regarded to be Madrid’s most talented player, and he has declared that the Portuguese star’s days at the Bernabeu are numbered.

Di Maria teased that he doesn’t know how long Ronaldo will “endure it” at Madrid. Perez was quick to respond though as he told a news conference that Madrid had “made the best you could to a football player and [Di Maria] didn’t accept.” He then cuttingly added, “No one was going to make that kind of money but Cristiano.”

However Di Maria has once again alleged that Perez is talking nonsense, and he has gone on to declare that he wasn’t even present when Di Maria conducted his contract talks. “I didn’t have much to do with Florentino,” Di Maria told Radio America, according to ESPN. “When I signed and renewed my contract, he wasn’t present.”

Ronaldo has always been a big fan of Di Maria, and its believe that his departure has only helped to increase his discontent in the Spanish captial. “He [Ronaldo] was always there for me,” Di Maria said of the striker. “I don’t know how long he’ll endure it at Madrid.”

Discussing his departure he then explained: “The Madrid president said he bought James Rodriguez because I wanted to go but I never said that. Cristiano always supported me because he knew I didn’t want to go, but these things happen and the club decided to bring in other players. The $100 million they got through selling me was very good for the club.”
