David Guetta Is Tearing Out His Hair Over New Album
David Guetta is a little stressed out about his new album.
Although the French DJ is known for cranking out popular tunes, that doesn’t mean he’s always sure one of his endeavors is a surefire hit. In fact, wondering and worrying about whether people will take to a song is a great source of anxiety for Guetta. His proclivity for hard work often leads to some pretty stressful moments in the studio.
For David Guetta, a strong work ethic is the key to success.
“If you ask me what is the secret behind my hits (songs), I have to say I have no idea. At the moment I work on my new album and tear my hair out, because I can’t reckon, If a song is going to be a hit or not. It’s crazy that people think I would have a recipe, but I haven’t. Live would be so much easier with a recipe like that.”
All of that hard work has apparently paid off quite well for David Guetta. Although his wife could end up taking a large chunk of his change as a result of their divorce, that hasn’t stopped the DJ from making a ton of cash. In fact, Forbes recently listed the guy near the very top of their World’s Highest-Paid DJs list. His net worth: $30 million.
“The former Parisian club manager commands some of the top fees in Las Vegas but stays true to his European roots, maintaining his weekly F**k Me I’m Famous residency in Ibiza. In the past 12 months, he’s spent time on tour with Rihanna and has penned songs for Britney Spears and Lady Gaga on their latest albums. In March, he divorced Cathy Guetta, his wife of 22 years and long-time business partner.”
The only person making more money than Guetta these days is Calvin Harris. While David is perfectly happy with $30 million, Harris is sitting pretty at the top of the aforementioned list with $66 million. Avicii and Tiesto tied for No. 3 with $28 million, while Steve Aoki rounded out the top five with $27 million. Everyone wants to be a DJ, indeed.
