Usain Bolt Retirement Postponed Until 2017: Fans Ask ‘Who Is Usain Bolt’s Girlfriend?’

Usain Bolt’s retirement has been postponed. The 27-year-old Olympic athlete had planned to hang up his running shoes after the 2016 Rio Olympics. However, he recently announced that his sponsors persuaded him to extend his impressive professional career for an additional year. Oddly enough, the announcement has aroused interest in another burning question. Who is Usain Bolt’s girlfriend? His last confirmed girlfriend was Lubica Kucerova. Their relationship ended in 2012.

The Jamaican runner’s final race could be the 2017 world championships in London, England. According to Times Of India, sprinter Usain Bolt made the surprising and welcome announcement during a press conference on Friday.

“For me, I think I might go one more year, my sponsors have asked me to do one more year, so I mean go on to 2017. Definitely looking forward to coming to Rio because this is where I can try to make… push my legend status to a higher level.”

Could Usain Bolt have plans to expand his athletic prowess into another professional sport? 7M Sports quoted the super sprinter as he discussed possible post-retirement options, and it seems that he has given some serious thought to playing professional football or coaching.

“For me, definitely I’ve said I’ve wanted to try professional football to see if I’d be any good — I think I will be, but you never know. When it comes to being a coach… no… I don’t want to be a coach, I see what I put my coach through through the years, so I really don’t want to go through that with any athletes. So I’ll just chill out. But other than professional football, I just want to be a lazy person… be a ‘bum’ at home.”

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Usain Bolt had some competition earlier this year when a team of researchers at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology created a dinosaur robot built to exceed Bolt’s impressive record of 27.44 miles per hour. Although the robotic velociraptor boasts impressive speeds on a treadmill, it isn’t capable of actual competition against the athlete on the track. So his reputation as the world’s fastest man is safe, at least for now.

Usain Bolt’s last known girlfriend, Lubica Kucerova, is a 31-year-old fashion designer who was born in Slovakia. She is the founder of LUBICA, which just happens to be based in Jamaica. Bolt resides in Kingston, Jamaica. He was also rumored to be dating Megan Edwards in 2012, according to Who Dated Who?
