Beyonce Knowles Performing At The VMAs Despite Divorce Rumors

Despite being at the center of divorce rumors, Beyonce Knowles will perform at the VMAs. The VMAs has a significant meaning for Knowles. During one of her most memorable performances, the superstar was pregnant with her daughter Blue Ivy. At the time it was a secret that was revealed at the end of Beyonce’s talked-about performance.

This time around we imagine that there will be a lot of tension leading up to her performance, given the divorce rumors she has dealt with since around July following a fight in an elevator between her husband Jay-Z and her sister Solange. The fight has fueled rumors that Jay-Z cheated on Beyonce with multiple women, and these reports persisted throughout their joint On The Run tour.

As far as her VMA performance, Beyonce will make her fourth performance at the ceremony on August 24. It isn’t a huge surprise that Knowles is performing at the VMAs. The star leads the way with eight nominations, and is also currently promoting her visual album Beyonce.

Additionally Knowles will have to attend because she’s receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award. Last year, Justin Timberlake performed a fifteen minute set of all of his hits and also received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award. During Timberlake’s performance, the big highlight was seeing all of the guys from Nsync joined the singer on stage during the special performance.

Although it isn’t known if the members of Destiny’s Child will join Knowles, it’s likely that they will. Members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams joined Knowles for the Super Bowl during her halftime performance, so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if they joined Beyonce for a monumental moment.

Another question is if Jay-Z will join Beyonce for a duo performance. Despite their divorce rumors, all answers lead to a big yes. The two join each other every night for their On The Run tour, and also their performance would mean that they’re taking a very public stand as a couple. It would be a huge source of positive promotion for their personal life without making any official statements. This is something that Beyonce is a fan of doing. As stated, she used a VMA performance to comment on her pregnancy with Blue Ivy.

The last time Knowles took the stage during an awards ceremony was at the Grammys with Jay-Z was a racy rendition of “Drunk In Love.”
