Sofia Vergara: New Man, New Life
Sofia Vergara’s love life has always been in the spotlight, trying to find a good man. Vergara’s search may be over.
The 42-year-old Vergara, star of Modern Family, has been linked to True Blood and Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello since the White House Correspondence Dinner on July 15. Vergara had ended a whirlwind two-year relationship and engagament with Nick Loeb just before the dinner.
Vergara and Loeb called it quits in June, and the Colombian star released the following statement on her WhoSay page:
“Not that anyone should care, but in order to not give the press the chance to invent crazy and hurtful drama, I prefer to tell my fans personally that Nick and I have decided to be apart,” Vergara wrote.
“We have been having too many problems with figuring out how to spend time together and because of my work and now his, it’s been getting worse and worse, not fun anymore. We are still very close but we believe it’s the best thing for us right now.”
Vergara first went public with her new boyfriend when she brought the hunk to her 42nd birthday party last month. According to RadarOnline.com, Vergara has actually been mellowing out a lot ever since, thanks to Vergara’s sober boyfriend’s influence, and friends of the couple are thrilled! A friend tells RadarOnline, “The two are now inseparable.”
A source on the set of True Blood tells RadarOnline exclusively, “Joe is so happy right now. He is really into Sofia!”
“Joe has been a really good influence on her,” the source continues. “He is teaching her that she can have just as much fun without drinking and has gotten her into fitness and health. They even workout together.”
Manganiello has “long-term sobriety”, the source says. What’s more, he uses his sobriety to give back.
“He helps out a bunch of great guys that really look up to him,” the source revealed.
Joe spoke recently to contactmusic.com of the pride he takes in his physique, insisting he is a ”unicorn” amongst actors.
He said: ”A lot of the actors who are on the cover of lifestyle magazines look like they’ve had their waistline airbrushed or they’re wearing winter clothes or whatever. ”I see them and think, ‘That guy doesn’t work out, I know that guy and he smokes two packs of cigarettes a day and is a complete drunk on the weekends. Now he’s putting out an illusion on the cover of a glossy magazine.’ ”It’s absurd to me. I’m athletic and I’m healthy. I’m like a unicorn in the world of actors.”
Vergara has also stated recently she would like to have another child, one of the possible breakup points with Loeb. Imagine the cute kids Vergara and Manganiello could have together.
