Noelle Aston Shawver: 5-Year-Old Shot And Killed During Playdate In Idaho
Noelle Aston Shawver, 5, was shot and killed by accident during a playdate in Idaho. The child was playing with another 5-year-old when the two got a hold of a loaded gun. According to The Christian Post, it is unclear how the children came into contact with the weapon. There were adults in another room of the home, but they were far too late to stop what happened next. By the time the adults realized what was going on, a bullet had already found its way into Noelle’s body.
Lt. Bill Guiberson of the Chubbuck Police Department said that further details were not available and that the case was still under investigation.
“We are not releasing any of that. Obviously that’s part of the investigation.”
Noelle Aston Shawver was rushed to a nearby hospital where she later died from her wounds. Following this tragic accident, Noelle’s parents set up a fundraising website in an effort to receive assistance for the financial burden that the family faces. A family member explained what the donations would be used for.
“Although, we can never replace their loss we can help by trying to lessen their financial burden. Donations made to this fund will go directly to the family to pay for funeral and burial expenses.”
According to GoFundMe, the Shawvers have received over $21,000 in just 24 hours. A message on the page thanked fans for their support.
“Your generosity is simply amazing!! We are near our goal but I don’t want to stop there. Please keep donating as the family will incur several other expenses ie. medical, time off work, counseling and such.
Every dollar is greatly appreciated!!”
The love for Noelle Aston Shawver and her family has been incredible. Virtual strangers have been coming forward and donating money as well as sharing loving messages, in hopes of comforting Noelle’s family, even just a little bit. A similar outpouring of support was shown to a family in California earlier this week. A couple mourned the loss of their baby who was stillborn. A photographer captured beautiful pictures of the baby and, as previously reported by The Inquisitr, strangers donated money to help that family pay for the hospital fees and funeral services. The family made their goal and beyond in just a couple of days.
If it’s any consolation at all, seeing people come together in the face of tragedy is simply remarkable.
