Cristiano Ronaldo Abortion: Star’s Mom Reportedly Wanted To Terminate Pregnancy
Cristiano Ronaldo abortion? Ronaldo apparently came close to never being born.
The mother of soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that she attempted an abortion when she got pregnant with the future world-class athlete.
This revelation reportedly appears in Dolores Aveiro’s tell-all autobiography called Mother Courage, which has just been published in Portugal.
Aveiro’s doctor was evidently unwilling to terminate the pregnancy, so Cristiano Ronaldo’s mom reportedly resorted to so-called home remedies, according to Metro UK. “In the book, Mrs Aveiro admitted that she tried to abort Ronaldo — who is the youngest of four children — by drinking warm beer and running ’till she dropped’ following the refusal of doctors to carry out the procedure. She said: ‘I wanted to abort but the doctor didn’t support my decision.'”
Apparently the Real Madrid superstar, whose full name is Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, is not harboring any hard feelings, however, after he found out. “Look mum, you wanted to abort me and now I’m the one who’s pulling the purse-strings in the house,” the book quotes him as joking.
Ronaldo, 29, is said to be the highest-paid soccer player in the world, earning about $28 million a year. According to the Bleacher Report, the former Manchester United star “has gone on to become one of the world’s greatest footballers, winning numerous trophies and setting individual records across his career.”
The 2014 FIFA Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo captained the Portuguese national team in the 2014 World Cup, which underperformed and failed to advance to the round of 16 after a match with Ghana. Ronaldo is the only player to have scored at Euro 2004, World Cup 2006, Euro 2008, World Cup 2010, Euro 2012, and World Cup 2014. With his goal against Ghana, Cristiano Ronaldo is the first Portuguese football player to score in three World Cups.
