Barack Obama Orders U.S. Military To Sharia Law During Ramadan, Christians Express Disdain
In Islam, Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calender and is observed worldwide as the month of fasting. This year, Ramadan began on Saturday, June 28, 2014 and will end on Sunday, July 27, 2014, an approximate total of 30 days. Now, there are reports coming out that U.S. personnel in Bahrain have to accustom themselves for Ramadan.
According to an initial report by Stars and Stripes, U.S. personnel will have to change their daily habits, or put them on hold, for the entire month of Ramadan. All 8,200 military personnel living in the area, along with those serving throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility – including service members, civilian personnel, contractors, and family members – will have to change their lifestyles for one month in accordance to Sharia Law.
During this time, local businesses and government offices will reduce hours and most restaurants will be closed during daylight hours only to open at night for Iftar dinners, which are designed to break the fast of the day. Americans are getting off easy on the fasting part since they are not required to fast, but they might be fined or detained by local authorities if they are caught eating, drinking, or smoking in public whenever they are off-base during daylight hours. Ergo, this is probably the reason for the military partaking in Ramadan.
However, Christ followers are not happy about this since it is considered a violation of one of the freedoms every United States citizen enjoys: Freedom of Religion. According to Now The End Begins, for Christ followers, Sharia Law is recognized as a demonic doctrine. Also, the article states that even though U.S. personnel are forced to follow Sharia Law, they are also denied access the use of their Holy Bibles and openly displaying their Christian faith. As a matter of fact, the article has this to say about the situation surrounding Ramadan:
“Obama has thoroughly conditioned the military, through a combination of forced mental conditioning and all the unnamed pills soldiers are forced to take without question, they will come back to the State and bring their new-found love for Islam with them. This is the mission that Commander-in-chief Barack Hussein Obama has undertaken, and will not rest until it is completed.”
Why would this be said in the article? It is because of the second part of the initial report. First, U.S. personnel have to confine to dressing more conservatively off-base. The Navy, for example, is demanding (keyword: demanding) that men wear long-sleeved shirts and women wear sleeved blouses that cover their elbows. Also, men must wear long trousers, and women should wear pants or skirts that cover their knees. It can however be taken that the military doesn’t want to pay fines for dress code violations during Ramadan so the clothing demands might make sense. Besides, the dress code is only off-base right?
This is where it gets interesting for Christ Followers to a point they see a “red flag”.
Second, there were base cultural advisers who spent the last few weeks teaching Americans about Ramadan. Ali Hassan, one of the cultural advisors, briefed about 150 Americans about Islam, the lunar calendar, and customs and traditions during the month. Hassan even encouraged personnel to experience Iftar in a Ramadan tent, in which many are set up at various locations around Bahrain and welcome non-Muslims.
True, there are some soldiers who don’t mind doing the lifestyle changes for a month just so they don’t cause any trouble. Many servicemen echoed this sentiment, including Officer 1st Class James Ramirez when he said:
“For such a small period of time, it’s a small sacrifice.”
However, prior to that statement, he said:
“It actually made me want to do a lot more research into the religion.”
And that statement right there is where the justification for Now The End Begins, Before It’s News, Liberty News, and many other articles from other websites, especially those associated with Christianity, come in.
