Ellen DeGeneres Reportedly Cheated While Portia De Rossi Was In Rehab

Ellen DeGeneres reportedly cheated during wife Portia de Rossi’s stint in rehab earlier this year, the latest blow to a shaky marriage.

The couple has been plagued by marital rumors of all sorts, from reports of infidelity to others that claim Ellen is trying to control Portia’s carer.

One of the first rumors started in February, when Ellen was spotted having lunch in Hollywood with a mystery brunette. They ate in full view of paparazzi, which the celebrity rumor blog CelebDirtyLaundry noted was intentional:

“This photo op for the paparazzi was not an accident, but instead very purposeful. Ellen knew that she and her new friend would be photographed together and that Portia would see the snaps. She also knows better than to be seen with another woman alone, unless she wants people to talk.”

Now, it turns out that Portia de Rossi went to rehab not long after Ellen’s mystery date. According to InTouch Weekly, Portia de Rossi quietly entered the Passages Malibu rehab facility in May for a 30-day program to address her drinking. It was the second time Portia entered rehab, with the first stint coming in 2000 when an eating disorder caused her to drop to 82 pounds.

A source told InTouch Weekly that this time the rehab stint was sparked by a fight between Portia and Ellen.

“They got into an ugly fight. Portia hadn’t been happy for a while and was drinking and isolating (herself), and Ellen confronted her,” the source said. “Portia lost it and blamed Ellen for driving her to drink because of her controlling ways and said she wasn’t in love with her anymore. Ellen was crushed and screamed at Portia to get out.”

The marital strife reportedly caused Portia de Rossi to turn to drinking, and reports now say that Ellen’s infidelity may have been the cause.

In a July 4 post, CelebDirtyLaundry noted that Ellen’s infidelity continued during Portia’s rehab stint.

“We’re also hearing from several other sources that Ellen may have continued cheating on Portia even after Portia was admitted to rehab. Cold? Sure, but it’s Hollywood. Ellen could have stayed supportive of Portia, but at the same time, still wanted to continue what she was doing.”

While Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have denied all divorce rumors to date, if true the latest report may be too much to overcome.
