Lisa Kudrow: Big Changes For ‘Web Therapy’, And Matthew Perry Is Guesting!
The much-awaited reunion has arrived! It was confirmed by Express that Lisa Kudrow will have former Friends co-star Matthew Perry on her hit comedy series Web Therapy next season.
Matthew Perry will be the fourth “friend” to guest on Lisa Kudrow’s critically-acclaimed series. The show had seen appearances from Matt LeBlanc, who currently stars in Episodes, David Schwimmer, who is presently taking the director’s seat in a variety of projects, and Courtney Cox, who plays main protagonist Jules Cobb on Cougar Town. Jennifer Aniston, who is undoubtedly the most successful Friends alum (and is presumably the busiest), has not yet appeared on the show.
It hasn’t not yet been revealed what role Perry will play on Web Therapy, but fans are assuming he’ll take on the role of another one of Fiona Wallace’s online patients.
Other big stars are also set to appear in the coming season. Calista Flockhart, Allison Janney, and even Mad Men’s Jon Hamm will guest on the series.
Lisa Kudrow played the eccentric Phoebe Buffay on Friends, while Matthew played the sarcastic Chandler Bing. It has been ten years since the last Friends episode was aired, and fans are still clamoring for a reunion. However, Lisa Kudrow and Courtney Cox have dismissed the rumors and denied any Friends reunion happening soon. Even the idea of a Friends musical has been widely rejected by the show’s alums.
Here is a clip of Kudrow addressing the rumors on Conan:
In other news, Hollywood Reporter revealed Wednesday that Web Therapy will be moving to YouTube channel StyleHaul for its fifth season. StyleHaul CEO Stephanie Horbaczewski said in an interview:
“Web Therapy has had proven success with an online audience and has had a terrific, wildly successful television experience,”
Producer Dan Bucatinsky also expressed his joys over the re-hosting of Web Therapy. He said in a statement:
“Lisa, Don and I are thrilled to continue our tradition of a multiplatform approach to our passion project, Web Therapy, with a new partnership with StyleHaul,”
“We love how this new home … will mean exposing the series to a whole new audience.”
Web Therapy stars Lisa Kudrow as Fiona Wallace, a shady, incompetent therapist who provides counseling via web chat.
Here is a trailer for the upcoming season. Lisa Kudrow’s Web Therapy will be return on October 22.
