Michael Muhney To Appear On Another Soap Opera? Rumors Reignite Over Him Taking Role On Show
Michael Muhney is back in the news with speculations that he might appear on another soap opera. If this rumor is true, Muhney fans will finally see their favorite actor back onscreen.
As Examiner lays out, Michelle Stafford has taken on the role of Nina Clay on General Hospital and Muhney might be cast as A.J. Quartermaine.
Gossip Chick Explains It All posts in its latest blog entry:
“Gossip Chick Central was buzzing all weekend with emails and a couple of phone calls, nothing we can confirm 100% — but it seems the General Hospital casting department is having a blast with all the different casting rumors out there involving two former Y&R cast members. And this is the latest one, but mind you, we aren’t confirming this 100%…..yet. But we’re just as hopeful as you are!”
A.J. Quartermaine’s character on General Hospital was shot by Sonny Corinthos and supposedly died in Carly’s arms. This is similar to Michael’s former role as Adam Newman on The Young and the Restless. In the script he died in a violent car crash, but today’s storylines on Y&R hint that the character will return.
Gossip Chick goes on to say that besides rumors of Michael Muhney joining the cast of GH, another actor from Y&R could be on the show:
“Bottom line? There are three great male characters open for recast on General Hospital. Lucky Spencer (and rumor has it that Billy Miller MAY have been cast in that role), Jason Morgan (rumors say both Billy Miller and Michael Muhney may have tested for that role) and A.J. Quartermaine (rumors place Michael Muhney in that role).”
For its part, the sometimes questionable Celebrity Dirty Laundry reports that some kind of “conspiracy theory” was behind the firing of Michael Muhney from The Young and the Restless. Hunter King (who portrays Summer Newman) is allegedly close with the soap’s executive producer, Jill Farren Phillips. Some fans of Muhney’s believe Phillips told King to complain about him so he there was a reason to fire him.
Last December King claimed that the actor groped her on set and he was let go from the show. The story was never confirmed by anyone from Y&R, however. As a result, rumors have gone haywire over the drama surrounding Michael’s termination from the soap.
Muhney fans weren’t thrilled when Hunter King just took home the Daytime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Young Actress.”
Celebrity Dirty Laundry writes:
“Just the fact that Hunter won was enough for many soap viewers to believe that the Emmys were rigged since she is not highly regarded as an actress by fans. But, to add insult to injury Hunter thanked Jill Farren Phelps in her acceptance speech and even referred to her as her ‘second mother.'”
The future is still up in the air for Michael Muhney fans as to when they can expect to see him on TV again.
A related article by The Inquisitr, Muhney was reportedly seen at CBS Studios and fans wondered if it meant he was to reprise his Adam Newman role, but nothing materialized on that front.
Is there any truth to the latest Michael Muhney rumors?
