‘Power Rangers’ Reboot Footage Headed To San Diego Comic-Con 2014?
The companies behind the upcoming Power Rangers movie could debut some footage at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, according to former series star Jason David Frank.
Although no one has officially landed a role in the aforementioned reboot, apparently the folks at Saban Entertainment and Lionsgate are planning some sort of Power Rangers presentation at SDCC 2014. Unfortunately, details are few and far between.
According to Moviepilot, former Power Rangers star Jason David Frank surprised fans with a few posts on Instagram and Twitter. However, these teasers later vanished from both sites. Did the actor accidentally let the cat out of the cinematic bag before the companies were ready? If that’s the case, then nobody’s saying a word about it.
Of course, tweets never really vanish completely from the internet. Although Frank officially removed the image, other folks are still passing it around.

Movieweb speculates that Saban and Lionsgate could officially reveal the Power Rangers cast at the San Diego Comic-Con. Although everyone has a theory about who will end up portraying these colorful heroes on the big screen, no one has any concrete details.
According to KDramaStars, a number of famous faces are reportedly in consideration for the Power Rangers reboot. Included in the pile of celebrity names are Chloe Grace Moretz, Liam Hemsworth, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Chung, Roshon Feegan, and Jack Gleeson. There’s also a rumor making the rounds that Liam Neeson might portray Zordon in the flick. Again, this is all speculation at the moment.
One thing’s for certain: A new Power Rangers movie is definitely happening. The Inquisitr previously reported that Lionsgate and Saban Entertainment released a statement about the project earlier this year. Unfortunately for fans who are champing at the bit for more info, that’s all we have as of this writing.
Haim Saban said about the recent partnership:
“Lionsgate is the perfect home for elevating our Power Rangers brand to the next level. They have the vision, marketing prowess and incredible track record in launching breakthrough hits from ‘The Hunger Games’ to ‘Twilight’ and ‘Divergent.’ In partnership with the Lionsgate team, we’re confident that we will capture the world of the Power Rangers and translate it into a unique and memorable motion picture phenomenon with a legacy all its own.”
Are you hoping that Lionsgate unveils more information about the upcoming Power Rangers reboot at San Diego Comic-Con 2014?
