3 Teens Killed In Hit And Run: Police Searching For Hit And Run Suspects Who Ran Away On Foot
3 teens killed in a hit and run accident in Houston, Texas, have police on the hunt for the person behind the wheel of the vehicle that hit them. According to ABC News, the accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. The teens were on their way home from a party when the car that they were riding in was struck. Of the six people in the car (three of whom were siblings), two boys and one girl were killed. The three others were rushed to a nearby hospital.
According to the report:
“Houston police say a white Chrysler was speeding and ran a red light, hitting a blue Chevrolet. Six teenagers were inside the Chevrolet when it spun on impact, hitting a light pole.”
The 3 teens killed in the hit and run are believed to have died on impact. Their names have not been released, likely because they are minors. It is unclear if any of them were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. According to Click2Houston.com, one teen was listed in critical condition and the other two in stable condition.
Police have not said if alcohol was a factor or if they suspect that the person driving the white Chrysler is suspected of being drunk or on drugs. Because the driver and the passenger fled, many believe that they must have been under the influence and didn’t want to get caught. They could have also had something on them (like drugs or an illegal weapon) that they didn’t want police to find. It is also possible that the two were just scared and decided that running away from the accident was better than owning up to what just happened.
Autopsies on the 3 teens killed in the hit and run are expected to be completed this week. Sadly, accidents like this happen frequently. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, another bad accident claimed the life of comedian James McNair last weekend. Actor/comedian Tracy Morgan was in that accident also, and was left in critical condition. Police are still investigating the case, but many believe that truck driver, Kevin Roper, was at fault. His tractor trailer collided with the limo bus that Morgan and his friends/crew had been traveling in after a show.
That accident occurred on the New Jersey turnpike and caused a six-car pile-up. So far, McNair was the only fatality. Morgan is expected to be okay despite his severe injuries.
