A massive Assassin’s Creed: Unity poster for E3 2014 has shown up and appears to feature four assassins. The questions this poster raises will undoubtedly be either answered in Ubisoft’s portion of the expo or further dragged into mystery like their last generation entry for this year.
Knowing how they have operated in the past, we will probably be left wondering who those mystery men are for a month or two. However, considering where the poster is, the answers may just be coming in a new alpha gameplay video during the show.
We might even see if the use of chemicals in the gameplay, rumored by a leaked DLC image, is actually true.
We can only hope that Ubisoft doesn’t take the same route they have so far in the series, with every odd numbered game being a frustrating mess that hints at what will be fixed in the next major release.

The Assassin’s Creed: Unity E3 2014 poster features four characters, each holding what appear to be different weapons. This could be an indication of the multiplayer aspects, as Ubisoft did reveal a possible four player cooperative story mode. It could also be emphasizing the variety of types of assassins in a possibly returning “brotherhood” gameplay style.
First revealed in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood , the title aspect of the game involved a fraternity of sorts where additional characters are hired to carry out contracts and aid in your wet work. This aspect was absent in Black Flag , but could be seeing a return in Unity .
The characters shown in the Assassin’s Creed: Unity E3 2014 poster also appear to be holding different weapons. The one in the rear seems to be holding a bow, the projectile weapon of choice used by Connor in AC3 , noticeably effective for stealth.
The next one forward is holding what appears to be a regular sword, noticeably not a rapier like you might expect given the game’s setting. The hilt appears ornate and there seems to be a definite edge to the blade.
Number three appears to be holding a kind of dagger, a weapon known for its short range abilities and ease of use in crowded situations.
The one in front appears to be holding the flintlock pistol, a weapon we’ve seen in the last two major releases. It’s not meant for stealth, but certainly adds a little range to the combat and helps thin the crowd so melee combat isn’t quite as overwhelming.
The rumors of an Xbox 360 and PS3 release subtitled Comet have yet to be confirmed, but we may get details this week.
It is yet unknown what the details from this Assassin’s Creed: Unity E3 2014 poster mean, but it certainly adds to the possibilities.
