Ginger Zee Wedding Party Was ‘A Purely Michigan Affair’
Ginger Zee tied the knot with fiance Ben Aaron at a lavish party which was “a purely Michigan affair.” That’s mainly because everything, from the flowers to the cake were provided by Michigan based businesses.
The wedding party for Good Morning America‘s favorite meteorologist and WNBC‘s Ben Aaron was organized by celebrity wedding planner Francesco Bilotto who employed what he called the “wedding mafia” in the form of Tableau Events, Bloom Floral Design, and Simply Sweet by Jessica.
Bilotto spoke to reporters about some of the challenges his team faced organizing the massive wedding event: “Within one day we had to change the location of the ceremony twice and swap out all of the white linens for the cocktail hour over to navy blue and leather. Too many bugs. But the look worked as the bridesmaids’ dresses were navy and it gave it a Ralph Lauren/Hamptons vibe,” he said.
Ginger Zee’s cousin, Lesleigh Kent from San Diego, said about the wedding that it was: “Absolutely the best wedding I’ve ever been to in my life. I’ve never had so many valuable exchanges with people. You instantly feel like family.”
Another guest who attended, Kelley Iuele, from New York, was also clearly impressed with the lavish party:
“Lake Michigan is such a big part of the state’s weather, it’s fitting that Ginger is married here. We all know the saying ‘If you don’t like the weather, wait an hour.’ Ginger had umbrellas in our welcome bags… just in case. Plus, the Traverse City cherries in the salad, and up in our rooms we found Mackinac Island fudge. It really was a Michigan day.”
Ben’s best man, Ian Goldberg, also spoke in sterling terms about the Ginger Zee/Ben Aaron wedding:
“There’s just a genuine quality to the people here. I’ve been here for three days and never been here before. It just seems that people are enjoying their lives. There’s a real joy here.”
