Islamic Prayers To Be Held At The Vatican For The First Time In History
Pope Francis has been the central figure in ushering peace between religions, especially Israelis and Palestinians. Now today, June 8th, Pope Francis will once again break another barrier as Islamic prayers and readings from the Quran will be heard at the Vatican.
According to Fox News, Pope Francis issued the invitation to Israeli President, Shimon Peres, and Palestinian Authority President, Mahmoud Abbas, during his visit last week to Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian Authority. All three of them will be joined by Jewish, Christian, and Islamic religious leaders in what is probably the biggest gathering of individuals from all three of the Abrahamic Religions. Also, when this happens later on today, it will probably be the first time in a long time that all three religions will get along too. There has been a very violent and bloody history between all three for many centuries now.
Patheos was able to report on more information about the upcoming event. First, there will be readings from the Tanach (Jewish), the New Testament (Christian), and the Quran (Islamic). Pope Francis will then read religious verses with Peres and Abbas in which the three would have selected for the ceremony.
This is very big news as believers from all three religions are expressing their opinions about the move. However, the majority of people these days favor with Pope Francis saying he is a pioneer for peace among religions. To some, this is just proving his future “False Prophet” status in which all the religions of the world will be combined underneath the name and number of the beast. And to the many others, mostly Pope Francis supporters, this is his greatest achievement.
As of now, the official statement from the Vatican, Pope Francis stated the following:
“Building peace is difficult, but living without peace is a constant torment.”
Nevertheless, Pope Francis is very influential and loved among the people. He is vigilant in his belief of peace and is not easily swayed, despite his above statement of it being hard. Nevertheless, the Vatican in general, not just Pope Francis since he seems to just do well in the news, needs more events to make their image more positive. Just here on The Inquisitr alone, we reported how someone in the Vatican may be accessing a specific porn site on numerous occasions and how a shipment of cocaine was addressed to the Vatican too.
The Inquisitr will keep you updated on any news that comes from the religious event happening later on today.
