George Clooney Getting Married And Running For President?
Just call him Mr. President! Apparently, actor George Clooney has a lot going on in his life lately. Not only is The Monuments Men star planning on getting married, but he’s also thinking of running for office — for the oval office, that is. According to Radar Online, Clooney is considering a 2016 run — and his new engagement could be a sign that this is true.
An insider explained:
“He has big ambitions and aims to get into politics imminently. He wants to do more humanitarian work and hopes to join the Democrats’ 2016 election campaign.”
George Clooney shocked the world when news broke that he had proposed to his most recent girlfriend, Amal Alamuddin. No one ever thought that Clooney would remarry, and after each of his previous relationships, that thought became more and more real. Clooney seemed like Hollywood’s forever bachelor — Mr. Unattainable — but now he is ready to settle down. Moreover, it sounds like Clooney is also ready to take on a career change.
According to Hollywood Take, Clooney needed to have someone like Alamuddin by his side before taking such a big step and getting seriously involved in politics. The insider added:
“George is thinking of how he can get more involved. Now he has Amal by his side it will give him more credibility to run for office.”
As far as George Clooney’s upcoming wedding goes, there have been all kinds of rumors and reports showcasing people’s best guesses as to what might happen. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Clooney and Alamuddin were thinking about renting out the Downton Abbey castle (Highclere) for their nuptials. If the actor is seriously considering running for office, his wedding could be within the next year — clearly he doesn’t want to be starting a campaign whilst planning a wedding, right?
Clooney and Alamuddin will undoubtedly be a power couple, and it’s people like them that have the power to do something extraordinary as a joined force. Perhaps George wanted to marry someone who was intelligent and who could really keep up with him on a political front because of his desire to run for office. While a picture of his face might not pop into your head every time you hear the words “President of the United States,” some think that Clooney would be a fine Obama successor.
Do you think George will end up running for president in 2016? Would you vote for him?
