Sure the Las Vegas Locos have won both United Football League Championships, but that is no guarantee of success in year three. They look pretty good on paper, but a lot of things have changed. Of course being the two time champions means the Locos will get the best shot of each of the other four UFL teams, and we will have to wait and see how this team responds to the new challenges of a new season.
On offense 2010 UFL Championship Game MVP Chase Clement has been anointed the starter. He was done so months ago by Head Coach Jim Fassel. It seems like a pretty good choice, as his backups will be Zac Lee and Mike Teel. Marcel Shipp and JJ Arrington will be in the backfield for this team. Even if Dede Dorsey returns the Locos will likely add another RB to the roster before the play their opening game. They return a number of wide outs and the depth there is great with the addition of return ace Eddie Drummond. The Locos are also very set at TE, with returning vets and promising UFL new comers. The O line also ahs a lot of depth and more importantly good size.
The Locos Defense will look different this year, especially on the D line where they are replacing two starters from a year ago. In the LB corps there are still some question marks, but UFL all time tackle leader Teddy Lehman recently resigned with the team. In the secondary Nick Turnbull returns after missing most of 2010 with an injury. They also return a host of their 2010 starters.
