‘Harry Potter’ Spinoff Film ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Hitting Theaters In 2016
Harry Potter fans get ready, because the fantastic trio is about to reunite for one more adventure. According to Variety, Warner Bros has announced that J.K. Rowling’s first installment of the Harry Potter spinoff trilogy, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, is actually happening and will arrive in theaters in 2016.
For those fans who need an actual date to mark on a calendar, the Harry Potter spinoff series, or at least the first installment of the series, will be making its way into theaters on November 18, 2016.
The film, Fantastic Beasts is the first title to be scheduled for that day, so as of right now they don’t have to worry about any competition. Although Warner Bros has set a date, it doesn’t look like the studio has settled on a producer, director or actors to portray the main characters in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Those who are up on all of the Harry Potter news will already know that this project was announced in September, but with very to little information out and little motion with the project, this is a huge step in the right direction, and one that certainly puts things on steady ground.
According to an Amazon review, the synopsis is as follows:
“Finally, Muggles will have the chance to discover where the Quintaped lives, what the Puffskein eats, and why it is best not to leave milk out for a Knarl. The Quidditch textbook explains where the Golden Snitch came from, how the Bludgers came into existence, and why the Wigtown Wanderers have pictures of meat cleavers on their clothes. Both books, designed to look like Harry Potter’s actual, used Hogwarts textbooks, feature silly scribblings from Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Proceeds from the sale of this gift set will go to improving and saving the lives of children around the world. Harry Potter fans, rejoice!”
As some may know, author J.K. Rowling was convinced by Warner Bros to write a spinoff title, so she adapted her Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them for the big screen. According to the source, “Rowling wrote the 54-page book in 2001 between publication of the fourth and fifth Potter books.”
The book revolves around the magical creatures that exist in the Harry Potter Universe. While Harry, Ron, and Hermoine don’t have a huge part in the book, they do commentate on the on-goings between the magical creatures.
Alan Gilmore, the art director behind both of the franchises, told MTV that the three leads Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, will be returning together on the big screen.
“They’ll be there! It’s quite exciting. They’re regrouping for one last adventure. It’s all new, it’s a brand new film “and it’s absolutely film quality, involving the films team, a merging of the film team and the Universal production team.”
Looks like it’s going to be another wild ride for Harry Potter fans.
