Florida Teenager Stabbed Over Facebook Post – His Attacker Charged With Attempted Murder
One teenager was hospitalized after being stabbed seven times, and another teen has been arrested and charged with attempted murder – all over a Facebook post.
The 16-year-old suspect had allegedly posted something on Facebook that his 14-year-old Poinciana, Florida, schoolmate did not like. According to WESH News, the older teen heard rumors the following day that the younger boy wanted to fight him over the post. He told his father later that he had managed to avoid the confrontation while at school.
After school was a different story, according to Twis Lizasuain of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. While walking home from Discovery Intermediate School, the 14-year-old confronted the older boy, possibly throwing a punch. That is when the 16-year-old pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed the younger teen, multiple times. The fight happened behind the home of Aida Serrano, who called 911 when she heard the commotion going on at about 6:45 pm.
The witness said that one teen was on top of the other teen and there was blood. One boy had been stabbed.
“He was holding him by the neck, trying to choke him out and stabbing him,” according to Serrano. “He was starting to get pain, telling me he couldn’t breathe, so I was telling the ambulance, ‘You need to hurry up.'”
The victim is expected to make a full recovery and has been released from the hospital, reports Fox. However, at least one of the places he was stabbed was in the neck, which could have severed an artery and killed him. It is for this reason that the older teen is being charged with attempted murder.
Deputies say that, based on the evidence, the victim’s stab wounds, and witness statements, the teen also faces seven counts of aggravated battery, and one count of aggravated assault with a weapon. He has been taken to Orange County Juvenile Detention Center.
Just one month ago, The Inquisitr reported that a Mexican teenager stabbed her best friend 65 times over some pictures that the latter had posted on Facebook.
All this was over something on social media. Two teen-age lives are forever altered. One teen will carry the scars, perhaps the rest of his life, from being stabbed seven times. The other teen faces prison for who knows how long. There is no information yet as whether either teen has a prior history of trouble. But this one senseless incident will haunt them forever. Over a Facebook post.
