Hulk Hogan can rest easy after a tourist returned the pricey shoe she had stolen from his store in Florida.
The white wrestling boot, which was autographed by Hogan, was stolen from his store in Clearwater Beach early this week. On Friday police said the Michigan tourist who took the shoe decided to return the shoe, which had an estimated value of $5,500.
The woman stole the shoe on Sunday evening, but employees didn’t notice the theft until they looked at footage from a security camera two days later.
Police indicated that the theft may have been a coordinated heist. They believe that four white females — who may have been spring breakers — entered Hogan’s Beach Shop on Sunday evening. After four minutes a large statue of Hulk Hogan fell over, and when employees were distracted the woman took the boot .
Clearwater police said the woman admitted that she did “a stupid thing.” The woman had already returned to Michigan, but arranged for people she met in Clearwater to return it to Hulk Hogan at his store.
Police have not filed charges against the woman, but said an investigation is ongoing.
Hulk Hogan meanwhile had decided that retirement from wrestling doesn’t suit him too well, and has announced a return for WrestleMania 30 — but as a host, not a wrestler.
WWE president Vince McMahon said in his official announcement:
“We are thrilled that Hulk Hogan has returned home to WWE. It’s fitting to have him help us celebrate 30 years of WrestleMania and usher in a new era with the launch of WWE Network.”
Hulk Hogan had been seen in an intensive training regimen in order to get back to his WWE appearance, and there’s also been talk of a legends match against either “Rowdy” Roddy Piper or the Ultimate Warrior .
