Wiz Khalifa Shared Outkast Music With His Mom
Wiz Khalifa remembers sharing Outkast music fondly, because he used to share it with his mom.
Outkast is one of those bands that has a wide range of influence in the hip hop world and many younger fans have not had the chance to watch them perfom live.
Everyone in the industry is massively excited to see the band perform at the upcoming Hangout Music Festival in Alabama and Wiz Khalifa is no different.
The rapper shared his own experiences with the duo’s music, which he says was just as important to his mother as it was to him.
“My favorite memories of OutKast definitely come from my mom, because she played so much of their music.” Wiz Khalifa told MTV. “It wasn’t like they were old to me–because Outkast was hella relevant–but it was like my mom love Outkast as much as I did. So it tripped me out, because we could share that CD.”
Wiz Khalifa explained how he and his mother followed Outkast through their exploratory years:
“We shared a lot of CDs but that was one of her favorite ones, and even when they started elevating their minds, and doing other things, she was a part of that movement, so in turn it helped me to grow with it to.”

“It wasn’t like they were old to me, because they were hella relevant, but my mom loved Outkast as much as I did,” he said. “It tripped me out because we shared that CD, we shared a lot of CDs, but that was one of her favorite ones,” he added.
OutKast is also scheduled to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California, which will serve as the group’s first performance since the release of Idlewild.
According to the group’s official Facebook page, they will also play a total of 40 different shows this year.
