Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus Are Too Risqué For French Television
Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus are a little too risqué for daytime television in France.
If you need a Spears and Cyrus fix in the country don’t have access to the internet for one reason or another, then you’ll have to wait until late at night to catch the singers on TV. According to reports, regulators believe the pair shouldn’t hit the airwaves until after 10 pm.
The watchdog group known as Conseil supérieur de l’audiovisuel (CSA) firmly believes that Britney Spears is a little too naughty for television during the daytime hours. Along with Cyrus, Spears was recently deemed inappropriate and relegated to hours that provide more adult-oriented entertainment for older viewers.
What caused Britney Spears to land in hot water with the French watchdog group? According to CSA, the singer’s music video for “Work B****” is a little too inappropriate for airwaves. Cyrus discovered that she too was kicked to the 10 pm hour for the sexy shenanigans found in her “Wrecking Ball” video.
CSA explained that the clip for “Work B****” finds Britney Spears writing around inside “a sadomachistic universe” that represents “women in a way that risks shocking many viewers.” As a result of her scandalous behavior in the video, you’ll have to wait until the sun goes down to find her on television.
Although Britney Spears getting banned from French television might seem a little shocking to some, this isn’t the first time broadcasters in Europe have taken issue with the singer’s “Work B****” music video. The singer discovered last October that the clip was banned until the 10 pm hour in the United Kingdom.
Of course, Britney Spears isn’t the only celebrity getting banned from stuff these days. Reports recently suggested that troubled actress Lindsay Lohan was banned from attending the “Toxic” singer’s Las Vegas shows at Planet Hollywood. Apparently Lohan is simply too much of a bad apple for Britney’s mom and dad to handle.
An anonymous source recently dished:
“Lindsay has always been a big fan of Britney and would love to attend a show. But there’s no way she would ever get on the VIP list, because Brit’s dad [and conservator, Jamie Spears] has a strict ‘No Lindsay’ rule… Jamie always felt that Lindsay was a bad influence on Britney. He wants to keep Britney on the straight and narrow, and that means not being around Lindsay ever again.”
What do you think about Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus getting banned from French television for their racy and controversial music videos?
