Mariah Carey To Release New Single On Valentine’s Day [Video]

Mariah Carey is finally ready to share her new music with the world.

The singer was originally expected to unleash a new collection of songs last summer. However, Carey decided to postpone its release until everything on the album was pitch perfect. Apparently everything is ready to roll — the singer revealed her intentions during her appearance on New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly.

Not only will the singer drop a new single on the masses this Valentine’s Day, Mariah Carey hopes to have the new album in stores at some point this spring. However, a specific release date for the batch of songs isn’t presently available as of this writing.

The Art of Letting Go was originally scheduled for July 23. Although fans were no doubt ready to splurge on the album, Mariah Carey ruined everyone’s day by tweeting that the songs weren’t ready for public consumption.

“While making this album, I got so immersed in the creative process that I just don’t feel I would be doing it justice to release it on July 23,” Carey tweeted.

The singer added, “I’d rather not exclude meaningful songs. I want to give you this album as it’s meant to be heard. When I’m ready, you’ll be the first to know!”

Despite the delay, this didn’t stop Mariah Carey and her record label from dropping two singles on her fans. “Beautiful” and “Art of Letting Go” arrived before the end of the year. The song that’s scheduled to hit on Valentine’s Day is the third single to hit airwaves ahead of the album’s release.

The singer dropped the second single on Facebook last November. Since she wanted fans around the planet to experience the tune at the same time, she figured social media was the best place for its debut. The song ultimately peaked at 115 on the US charts.

“There is an art learning how to let go of things in your life, people in your life, things that are not good for you — whatever the case may be,” she told CNN of the song’s title.

Carey added, “There’s an emotion to it. As you listen to the song from start to finish, you can tell that it’s me.”
