Aaron Rodgers Gay: Packers Quarterback Reportedly In Relationship, Considered Coming Out

Aaron Rodgers is gay and has considered coming out, a rumor floating around the internet is now claiming.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback just returned from injury to lead his team to an unlikely playoff berth, defeating the Chicago Bears on Sunday to claim the NFC North. But while his play on the field gained headlines, rumors that originated on the internet saying the Super Bowl MVP is secretly gay were gaining steam and stealing headlines.

The reports came via blogger Perez Hilton, who claimed that Aaron Rodgers had been outed as gay by an ex-boyfriend. Perez claimed that Rodgers was the player that was rumored to be coming out as gay last summer.

The rumor claimed that Rodgers was secretly in a relationship with Kevin Lanflisi, his “personal assistant and roomate.”

Citing an “inside source,” Perez Hilton wrote:

“Aaron has attended numerous sports award shows with Kevin, always color coordinated and without any double female dates, including the ESPY’s. Kevin was also the first person Aaron embraced when the Packers won the Super-bowl in 2011. I just find it really strange that as of late there has been many bitter subliminal tweets on Kevin Lanflisi’s twitter alluding to a relationship much deeper than a friendship he had, with who I perceive to be Aaron Rodgers, because Kevin has NEVER once tweeted about having a girlfriend, just mainly about the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers, and Justin Bieber’s music and sitting front row at Bieber’s concert. There has been speculation for years here in Wisconsin that Aaron is gay.”

That is not the only evidence that Aaron Rodgers may be gay, however. The blog SportsGrid cited a tweet from Kevin Lanflisi that showed him wearing a Packers Super Bowl ring with the words “Silence always comes with an expiration date..” The blog also noted that on Twitter Lanflisi follows both Aaron Rodgers and Outsports.com, a site dedicated to gay sports news.

Though the rumor that Aaron Rodgers is gay is still unverified and based solely on speculation, LGBT advocates believe it would be quite a boost for the movement if he were to come out. Though there have been rumors that gay NFL players may come out, having a Super Bowl MVP and popular quarterback like Rodgers admit he were gay could be monumental, they say.
