Claude Stanley Choules, Last World War I Combat Veteran Dead At 110


Claude Stanley Choules passed away at his nursing home in perth at the age of 110, he was the last surviving World War I combat veteran.

Joining the Royal Navy at the age of just 15-years-old Choules served on the HMS Revenge a flaghship vessel for the First Battle Squadron.

During his time of service Choules witnessed the surrender of the German Imperial Navy and the scuttling of the German High Seas Fleet at Scapa Flow.

The only documented surviving member of the First World War is now Mess Steward Florence Green.
