Kanye West Wants To Release A New Album By Next Summer

Kanye West really wants to have a new album on retail shelves by next summer.

Since the rapper recently made tons of headlines for his onstage antics and his penchant for ego-tripping interviews, sometimes it’s easy to forget that the man makes music for a living. However, West recently reminded the world that he still finds time to pen new songs.

Billboard reports that Kanye West recently tapped Q-Tip and Rick Rubin to tackle production duties on his upcoming batch of tunes. In fact, the rapper really hopes to have the tracks in the can and ready to roll by next summer.

“I haven’t named my next album but I have started on it. I write down philosophies all the time. I have some thoughts and I just constantly… everytime I think of it I write it. I’m working on it. I’d like to have another album out by next summer,” West recently told Power 99.

Kanye West also confirmed that he was working on a track with “Wrecking Ball” singer Miley Cyrus. Reports started popping up after following Cyrus’ controversial performance at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. Although some believe their collaboration includes a “Black Skinhead” remix, West stopped short of spilling any specific details about the project.

During her chat with Ryan Seacrest last month, Miley Cyrus said she felt extremely comfortable joining forces with Kanye West in the studio. In fact, the singer wasn’t hesitant at all to work alongside the rapper.

“No matter what I do I just want to be around people that really believe in me so that’s why him and I kind of started working together and I’m really excited for everyone to hear it because people have been talking about it since the VMAs, so I’m definitely ready for people to hear it,” she explained to Seacrest.

Not surprisingly, music isn’t the only thing on West’s mind at the moment. In addition to hooking up with Adidas to produce more shoes following his famous split with Nike, the rapper is also preparing to launch a clothing line in September of 2014.

“Ralph Lauren meets Steve Jobs meets Walt Disney meets David Stern meets every visionary through our culture,” West said of the clothing line during his recent interview.
